Student workshop logo results: Aqua Adventure Golf
A couple of weeks ago, Amy visited a local secondary school to deliver a creative branding workshop as part of their careers day.
We’ve already shared a bit about the day and what team 1 created. In this post, we’ll reveal what team 2 designed!
Each group was given an information pack filled with bios, ideas from their client’s customer persona sheets, questions to help them discover their business’ USP and more. The challenge was to create a logo, colour palette and set of fonts that pleased the client and suited the target audience.
Below you can read about the business team 2 was given: Aqua Adventure Golf and then you can see what they came up with! At the end of this post, we’ve brought their final idea to life digitally so you can see their vision in the most real way possible.

Welcome to Aqua Adventure Golf, the coolest new mini golf experience based in Kent! Get ready to dive into a mind-blowing underwater world, where you’ll find a super fun 9-hole course filled with colourful coral reefs, hidden treasures, and awesome sea creatures.
We’ve made sure that our mini golf course is totally family-friendly, so everyone from little kiddos to teens and adults can have a blast. It’s like stepping into an amazing adventure where you can explore the ocean’s wonders and have a whale of a time! Our team has worked their socks off to create a seriously epic experience. We’ve added water features that’ll make you go “wow” and interactive stuff that’ll make you jump with joy.
Whether you’re a pro golfer or just starting out, Aqua Adventure Golf is perfect for you. It’s all about having a laugh, making memories, and having an absolute blast with your mates and family. So come on down and dive into the awesomeness that is Aqua Adventure Golf. It’s going to be epic, and we can’t wait to see your smiling faces as you have the time of your lives!
The customers:
Aqua Adventure Golf caters to a wide range of customers, ensuring there’s something exciting for everyone.
Families are in for a treat as they can embark on a memorable adventure together, bonding over a game of mini golf in our magical underwater world. Kids and teens will love the vibrant and interactive nature of the course, making it a perfect destination for them to have fun with friends. Tourists exploring the Kent seaside area will find Aqua Adventure Golf to be a unique and entertaining attraction, adding an extra dose of fun to their holiday.
The venue also welcomes birthday parties, offering children and teenagers an unforgettable celebration in a magical under-the-sea setting. Aqua Adventure Golf is set to become a well-loved spot for families, kids, teens, and tourists alike, providing a memorable and immersive experience for all who visit.
The client’s initial ideas:
Combining golf & water
It could be cool to have something that combines elements from minigolf and under the sea, such as a golf ball and a wave. We will have a whole range of ocean-themed things going on across the golf course so feel free to think outside of the box and beyond just water (things like sea creatures, coral reefs, and fish).
Minimalist
If you think it would appeal to our target customer, it would be nice to see an idea of something more minimal. Perhaps using negative space or bold typography to make an impact.
Client’s likes and dislikes:
We love colour - particularly ocean colours like greens, blues, pinks and purples.We like logos that are memorable, we want to stand out and stay in people’s minds.We’d like our logo to tell our story.

What the students said about this idea:
“We used the colour pink for the octopus as it is creative and fun. The background is blue as it represents success and confidence. The blue also represents the water around the octopus because of the underwater theme. There is a golf ball and a starfish on the octopus’ head to make it seem like a hat and represents the golf course itself. The logo is also appealing to kids/families with its bright colour scheme & fun character and it also gives the business a personality. The text for golf represents golf balls and bubbles so links both of the themes of golf and underwater. The octopus is also holding a golf club. There are 9 bubbles as it is a 9 hole course.”
A mascot!
Whilst the client didn’t choose this idea, the team were able to incorporate the octopus character into the brand as a mascot for the course.
Team 2’s second idea (chosen by client):
After testing a couple of concepts and getting feedback from the client, team 2 finalised the logo you can see above. They were keen to use the colours blue and coral because they link to the ocean and having fun. They included subtle nods to the business such as using 9 bubbles around the splash to represent the 9 hole course. They also combined the letter ‘o’ with a golf ball.
What the students said about their design:
“We used the colour blue as it represents success and confidence which encourages competition and having fun on the company’s golf course. We used the orange/pinky colour for the starfish as it represents optimism, fun, calmness. We used a splash of water because the client wanted water incorporated. The starfish also combines this idea with golf. The ‘o’ in golf is a golf ball to show that it is an adventure golf course. The logo is also fun and exciting to appeal to younger children, and it has multiple elements to it. The font is custom-designed so the brand will stand out more. The logo could also be simplified (just the starfish and splash) for a favicon on a website. We have used blues/pinks like the client suggested.”
